Apple has a history of supporting Earth Day when it rolls around every year, and this year is no exception, according to AppleInsider, which reports that Apple Stores worldwide are sporting green leaves on their Apple logos.

The only other time that Apple modifies its famous logo is on World AIDS Day, when the logo turns red.

Aside from changing the colour of the most famous apple leaves in the world, Apple also has its employees wearing green uniform shirts and nametags instead of the usual blue.

Apple has also taken a further green step this year, by adding a new Earth Day section to the iTunes Store, which features apps, books, TV programmes, podcasts, iTunes U courses, and films with an environmental awareness and green-living theme.

In the header for the Earth Day 2015 iTunes section Apple posted the following message about its commitment to green issues:

“Our commitment to the environment starts from the ground up. We strive to change things for the better and create not only the best products in the world, but the best products for the world. Learn about how to improve the world around you with our Earth Day collections.”
