Earlier today we found out that Apple was well underway with testing the mysterious iOS 8.4 firmware. Though little is know about the future firmware update, we still have yet to hear any information regarding iOS 8.3 and iOS 8.2.

On Monday, were able to see the first glimpse of iOS 8.2, as Apple began seeding the first beta to developers. iOS 8.3 carries a build number of 12F5027d and folks around the web have already noticed a few significant changes.

First up, Apple has added Google's two-step verification process to the Mail app. After a user signs in with their email and password, a form pops up asking for the six-digit verification code, found via text message or the Google Authenticator app.

Next, MacRumors reports that iOS 8.3 will see a new emoji picker in a whole different way. Rumors have been popping up that Apple is looking to diversitize emoji by adding different skin tones. This new emoji picker will have a scrollable list of emotes, and presumably options for picking those skin tones.

Finally, the last noticeable change we found was the new CarPlay setup screen. The screen can be found under Settings > General, allowing CarPlay users to pair iPhones by holding down the voice control button in their vehicle. This takes away from the need to use a USB cable and leaves less cable-clutter in the car.

Since this is the first beta of iOS 8.2, it shouldn't be too long until we see a final release from Apple. BGR claims that Apple will release iOS 8.2 to the public sometime before the Apple Watch in April.

Another new feature is the two step verification for Gmail accounts.

Should this be available with 8.3? I have this feature with 8.1.3:

Sorry about that. It should have been the two step verification process for Gmail accounts.
