9to5 Mac reports that the official Apple Music Snapchat has been promoting the first streaming Beats 1 concert, which will take place on February 25 at 9 a.m. PT/ 12 p.m. ET, and which will star The 1975.
The concert setting will be a secret rooftop location in Los Angeles, and will see the band playing songs from their latest album, I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It, which is released this coming Friday.
It’s not yet known whether or not the event will be video streamed or just audio streamed, but apparently there is some indication from the stage setup that the show will indeed be filmed for broadcast at some point, even if not for a live stream.
Many fans have been asking for more live streamed events on Apple Music, so it’s good to hear that Apple is listening, and let’s hope that this is the first of many.
