I repeat, you do not need to be on WiFi to make yahoo video calls. I've even used it while driving in a car(I wasn't driving of course) Being on WiFi is better but not necessary.

Skype now does video calling on iPhone via WiFi or 3G.

Hi everyone, I just found this site and joined. It's great to own a iphone4 and have other owners to talk about apps and questions about this great iphone. I just opened yahoo messenger (I'm on a wifi connection right now) and chose the webcam option and it works. Niiiice!! I'll try it tonight on the 3G connection.

Yahoo messenger works very well for video chat. I use it all the time.

I downloaded the app and setup an account but I sure don't see any video chat button anywhere. How do you turn it on? Thanks.

When you go to IM one of your friends scroll to top of page. If they are on a device that can see video you'll be able to touch the cam icon. Once you do that they should be able to see you. If they don't have a cam on their laptop or desktop you won't see them but they should still be able to see and hear you.

I can do that with spype, no problem at all. Could be your network provider?
