i would like to understand the sequel of evangelion japanese animé!!!

is there a 1.0 series to the second sequel 2.0 i saw?

the boy goes to the underground center and meets his dad, his tutor and other young fighters prior in becoming one and after fighting angels one after the other, he finaly becomes a sort of god at the very end with apocalyptic blast finalé by rescuing the girl from the cockpit and levitates into the skies (sorry, sounds weird but that what i understood from the 2.0)

The anime finished the story. The manga (the one by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto) roughly follows the anime, but not exactly. It's not finished yet, so it's possible that the manga could have a slightly different ending than the anime did. There a re a lot of other Eva manga that capture an alternative universe though.
