Why cant i listen to my music

Have recently updated to iOS 5 on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2
On my iPhone everything seems to be going well
Other than when I try to listen to music the names of the songs appear but I cannot click on any of them as they are faded grey
On my iPad I have a similar problem other than I am able to listen to 23 of my 264 songs on my iPad

I am having this same problem on my iPad2 iOS5. I'm transferring music and after awhile it stopped syncing. It shows them on my iPad both through iTunes and in Music but they are greyed out and won't play.

You have to resync the music
