I've been reading through many threads. I'm
wondering how to determine if my IPhone 4s is unlocked or not. Is there a way for me to check?

    Thank you for your time.

If your phone works with other carriers then it's factory unlocked..
If you have to use just the one carrier sim then it's not.. There's sites that can check for you for free but I'm not sure the forum rules allow me to lead you there.. Google :)

Try using a sim card from another carrier

Usually users want their devices unlocked because they're travelling abroad, do not like the original carrier of the device, or they bought the device that's on a carrier that they do not have access to.
