Stopping an app?

I'm just wondering if there's a way to stop an app without rebooting the phone? The two that I need to stop every now and than are pandora, and tuneinradio. When I leave the app and return to it, they just pick up where we left off, and still have the streaming problems. I know in the android os. I would just navigate to the app thru the settings menu, and was able to "force stop" any app. Thank you

double hit the Home Button. Touch and hold one of the apps along the bottom. Touch on the X above the shaking apps to close the apps you want closed.
