Setting to notify of voicemails received?

Hello - is there a setting on my 4G that will provide a periodic beep or sound if I have received a voicemail? I have not been able to locate it. Right now the only way I know if I've received a voicemail while I've stepped away from the phone is if I visually check the voicemail indicator - thanks!
