Unless the iPhone is in a 100% waterproof case, the steam from the sauna would very likely cause irreparable damage. Also, saunas get quite warm and the heat alone could cause damage. I would highly recommend that you never take an iPhone into the sauna, no matter what kind of case it's in.

I would not do it as the steam and heat can destroy the iPhone.

Totally agree, Even steam in bathroom isn't good so it would be more intense in a Sauna.
