Resettting iPhone to new, putting back contacts

Hi, I need to reset my iPhone and need to use the 'set up as new phone' option instead of restoring from a backup. Since I'm using this option, can I still somehow quickly put back all of my contacts onto the phone without having to do any manual input of numbers? If so, how? I've been trying to look for a clear answer, but can't.

I'd also like to put back all of my texts back onto the phone as well.

Settings->General->Reset and wipe it all and you can setup as new

Edit: you will have to use iCloud if you wish to keep contacts

so are you saying that I can setup as new, and then get contacts specificallly from icloud?

or do you mean I can only do one or the other?

Edit: Scratch this, I just did a restore with backup. Worked well, iPhone is healthy & good to go : D
