When launched, the iPhone 5 sparked a little bit of controversy due to its longer screen. But the question remains, is Cupertino ready to go even farther? Rumors that Apple might be working on a 4.8-inch smartphone hit the tech world hard, so hard that a Russian fan site already started imagining how such a device might turn out to look like.

Russian website Appledigger has released a video that showcases the renderings of the supposedly next generation iPhone which has been entitled the iPhone Math. If released, the 4.8-inch device will have to feature an additional row of icons. This is visible in the video the website has provided. The 12-megapixel camera is also present in the rendering, although there is no visible difference to be spotted when compared to the current camera.

The new iPhone is expected to bear the “S” stigma, a card that Apple has played before with the iPhone 3G/3GS and will probably come in a variety of colors. Nothing else about the specs of the next generation iPhone is known at the moment, but some sources don’t expect it to be that revolutionary claiming that the colors might distract users from the lack of innovation.

Nevertheless, before getting too excited about the so called iPhone math, you’d be wise to consider that these are just thin rumors with no actual basis. At least, so far. Time will tell us if we are wrong.
