Really slow deleting photos sometimes

Hi. I've got a 64gb iPhone 4S, and I've found that deleting photos from the camera roll is sometimes really slow, and sometimes instant. I had an iPhone 4 before, and never experienced anything like it, so it seems quite wrong.

I've got both photos and videos taken with the camera, and it does the little trash can animation, but takes sometimes 10 seconds for the lid to close on the trash can.

I was hoping iOS 5.0.1 would fix it, but it doesn't seem to.

Anybody else get this too?

I have the same problem, with only 10k pictures in my albums, and 5 photos in my camera roll.

Besides the problem with the 10 sec delete my phone looses power in no time (2 days in standby), this started happening the same time as the deleting problem.
Maybe there is a connection there?

A workaround is possible for people with this problem!
Open the camera app :camera: and delete the photos from the viewer inside it, there my phone deletes them in no time.
It is not a solution but merely a workaround.
