New to iPhone and Apple

Hi. I'm new to Apple in general. I have never used an iPhone before.

Looking at the phones available I like many iPhone features--especially the ability to flip that switch on the left side of the phone and immediately silence all sounds! I wanted to learn more about the iPhone before spending a lot of money to get one so that I know a little more about what it can do and ways I would be able to use it.
