Message storage somewhere in the iphone

My summary shows 1.6 gb in my messages . I have deleted all of them. Could it be photos sent or received from messages? How do I free up my 1.6 that shows it is messages

I don't know, but when I had my phone swapped by Apple and restored it, had an extra 1.8gb !!!
No, I don't have music ( other than brought for and not much )
So I'm guessing there is " stuff" that sits on your phone over time and a delete/restore puts it in a better place

My one question would be have you rebooted the phone since deleting the messages? Worth a try if you haven't already.

You may have to back up your phone to iTunes, then restore to factory settings, then sync back from iTunes. I think that has worked for others.
