Keep losing whatsapp contact with ios 5

I keep losing a whatsapp contact with ios5. I'll be in mid conversation and the individuals phone number will be displayed and not their contact name. Has anyone else had similar issues ???

Part 2....... Apparently affecting my contact list as well. I can't seem to store any new contacts. It's obviously something I'm not doing. I just don't know what.
