Jailbroken Iphone 3gs does not appear in itunes when connected to computer

Hello Forum,

my jailbroken iphone 3gs does not appear in itunes on my computer. How can I reinstall iOS and keep all my downloaded apps from the itunes store and notes and contacts and reminders? Can I use redsnow? or what program could I use?

Update iTunes and restart your computer. If that doesn't work, then uninstall your USB drivers, reboot your PC, then try again

If you downloaded the apps using iTunes, then you can simply sync them over again. Notes and contacts are can be backed up using the backup feature of iTunes with your device connected. Simply restore the backup after the iOS restoration.
