Is there a way to change iPhone4 fonts/font sizes without "jail-breaking?"

When I read my text messages, the text just looks wide to me and I would like it to look narrow[er]. Like Arial Narrow. But it looks wide. I've heard that you have to ssh in to /System/Library/Fonts/Cache and change the HelveticaNeue.ttc file to what ever font you want, but I'm unsure what "ssh" is and I don't want to "jail-break" my phone.

I don't know anything about changing the font, but to gain access to that part of the iPhones filesystem you will need to jailbreak...
