iPhone problems..some help please.

Hi all, I'm new here and to iPhone's so please bear with me if I get lost in the lingo. I have an iPhone 3gs 16GB unlocked and running software version iOS6.0.1 and have "problem" that I cant seem to get my head around.
When the Bluetooth is switched on it searching for devices yet it cant detect other devices that are turned on, when another phone is searching for my phone and finds my iPhone they are getting a message "connection failed"?
Any help would be very grateful.

As far as I know that is because iPhones don't support phone to phone bluetooth communication for the exchange of data.

Yes Skull is right,idevices won't send data to non idevices.

Thanks guys..that sorts that out. Is it possible to transfer photos from my laptop to my iphone through iTunes?.....again sorry if it sounds silly.

That's what I do with my iMac to my 2 iPhones and 2 iPads. Create a folder, tell iTunes where it is located and then sync.
