iPhone not displayed in Device Manager/iTunes for sync

Here is my situation/setup:
I am running windows 8.1 pro and I have updated to the latest iTunes 11.1.2
I have two iPhones, a 5 (running iOS6) and a 5s

Prior to the iTunes update my computer was able to recognize my iPhone and would properly be displayed in Device Manager.

After the update, which I had to do to be able to sync my 5s, the devices no longer show up. They are recognized by the computer because they are charging and in my computers I do see the iPhone as a drive I can click on.

I would like this to work so I can sync my iPhone and back up my content.

Can you guys please help me fix this issue?
