iPhone 8 devices showing up in internet traffic to MacRumors.JPG

The iPhone 8 just got that bit more real today with MacRumors reporting that it is seeing growing evidence of iPhone 8 devices visiting the website. At this early stage the numbers are still very small, but MacRumors says that the data it has seen that shows devices with displays of 375 x 812 visiting the site ties in with KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s previous expectations for the iPhone 8’s display resolution. MacRumors says that the data shows that the visits to the website of these iPhone 8 devices are now regular enough to prove that the data points are genuine, and not just analytical blips.

MacRumors says that it first started seeing evidence of visits from these devices last September, with just a couple of instances, but did not see anything more substantial until this March, and then not much else again until late May. Now it looks like visits to MacRumors from those testing the iPhone 8 are really ramping up since the start of June, with the data showing from one to four visits from these devices almost every day.

The devices are also all running iOS 11, which will most likely ship with the iPhone 8.

MacRumors says that the location of the users ranges from some Apple-controlled IP addresses, while those from other IPs are located in such nearby areas as Cupertino, Sunnyvale, and San Francisco.
