IPhone 4s Verizon

Ok I recently just bought a 4s for Verizon and this guy said it was AT&T because he was using it for AT&T but I looked at the about information and carrier says Verizon and he said it was used on AT&T he was using web on AT&T, I am confused is there any way I can use it for Tmobile or AT&T? I tried but it said sim card invalid..?

Unfortunately no... if it's a Verizon 4S there's no way to use it on any US based GSM Carrier (At&t, Tmobile, etc.).
