I know its still over a week before we see the release of the iP4S but with it having the same A5 chip as the ipad 2 and the ipad 2 already being jailbroken (however not on iOS 5 yet), how long do you think we will wait before we see this new toy jailbroken?

I bought the iPad 2 on launch and it took ages before the jailbreak was released.

Im hoping we will see a jailbreak a little faster this time round.

We will have to wait and see when the devs get their hands n the device what they can do

The chronic team have already announced that they have 5 userland exploits identified for IOS5. Assuming these have not been patched in IOS5 GM, you will need to wait for one of those to be developed and tested into a working jailbreak, which is not a trivial matter, although they may have already made significant progress on this in the background.

Since the A5 bootrom has not yet been dumped and therefore no exploits exist with which to pwn the boot process of the iPad2 and (by extension) the iPhone4S we will need to rely on userland jailbreaks on the new phone for the time being. Unfortunately this means that Apple will be able to easily patch them with a quick IOS update.
Couple this with the supposed new approach to signatures utilising an APTicket which will render the ability to save blobs and use them to restore IOS useless, things could be getting very complicated for jailbreaking and owners of the new devices will need to proceed with extreme caution whenever an update to IOS5 is made available.

It is 100% true. It is no secret that the Chronic-Dev team are already working on an untethered jailbreak. They announced at JailbreakCon that they've already discovered 5 userland exploits in iOS5.

Hopefully they surprise us with a jb for the 4S

The jailbreak will be for ALL devices running iOS5. Userland jailbreaks are not device specific they just depend on the firmware. Only bootrom exploits are device specific.
Thanx for the clarification
