Iphone 4 camera

My camera is not working all of a sudden. When I touch the icon, the screen goes black instead of bringing up the camera. However, when I touch the camera in a message or Facebook it does bring up the camera. Any ideas what the problem is and more importantly what the fix is?

Cycle a hard reset if you haven't already. Have you update your firmware lately?

I just got it two weeks ago and updated it then

No... you're not resetting to factory. It's just a hard power off & letting it restart.
