Hi I have an Iphone 3GS and it's not finding the sim, it's connected to Wifi but in the top left hand corner it says searching then comes up with "no service" I've opened it up and made sure the 2 gold colour bars at the bottom of the sim tray are not in contact when the tray is in, does anyone have any other ideas what the problem might be?

Also at the bottom right corner of the logic board there is a little gold squiggly bit of metal soldered onto the board, what does this do?

Any help would be very greatly appreciated...

Thanks

Got this when I got my replacement phone.

BEFORE TURNING IN DEVICE:

You can tell if the LCI has been triggered by removing the SIM card tray from your phone. Wtih power off remove the SIM card. You should see white or silver colored dot. If dot will become red if it's in contact with liquid.

That means if you see that in there your phone is useless. So take a look at that.
