IOS5 updates notifications

I notice that the OS5.01 update has been released, however by the look of things you have to remember to go in to your settings to check if there is a update available.
It would have been nice if we could get notification on our device that a available. This used to happen when we backed up on iTunes, surly it can not be that difficult to add it to the present system ( after all we get notifications for every thing else).

I recieved a notification telling me the update was available, plus had the little 1 on the settings app.

Have had my 4S for a week now and mine didnt notify of the update. However my wife's just came in and as soon as I activated the phone it gave the notification for 5.0.1....... Go figure!
