According to a report from Business Insider, Apple is getting ready to get its iPhone mojo back, in a big way. In their assessment, the reason may surprise you too. It won't be because of fancy features or powerful internal hardware (although that is surely coming too). There are three primary reasons why Apple will see a surge that should take a great deal of marketshare back from Samsung.

First, as we all know from the many reported rumors over the past several months, Apple plans to offer a cheaper iPhone alternative called the iPhone 5C. What makes this so significant is that it is a product which will primarily be focused on emerging markets internationally. This will give Apple a nice big push into some very large markets, and allow folks who traditionally couldn't afford an iPhone a chance to own the renown device. The "mystique" of the iPhone alone will help to make this device successful.

Second, as we reported a few days ago, Apple is planning a new iPhone product with a much larger screen. They are working on a device which will likely have a 4.8-inch display, and they may even venture into phablet territory, as they are testing devices with a 6-inch display. This particular part of their plan won't come to fruition until sometime next year, but that's what makes Apple such a powerful force in the technology sector... they plan ahead for the future. While it is true they are playing catch-up in this particular category, Apple plans things out carefully. They do not rush headlong into a market and waste time, money and resources on products they don't believe will work for them.

The third and final reason Apple will very likely return to a more dominant position ties into the first. They are close to (or already have) secured contracts to begin selling the iPhone to DoCoMo, Japan's largest carrier, and China Mobile, China's largest carrier. Both of these contracts will be huge wins for Apple, as they have been working hard to secure a foothold in these markets for quite some time. Both have been tough nuts to crack for Apple, but if/when they are able to begin selling the iPhone through these carriers, it will mean a massive potential for new marketshare. To put it in perspective, China Mobile has 700 Million users, which is seven times the size of Verizon.

This basically means Apple has had a limited pool of customers globally for quite sometime compared to many of their competitors. Opening these gates will very likely bring a flood of renewed success for the Cupertino group.

Finally, we shouldn't forget that Apple will also be launching the new iPhone 5S. This should bring a host of new innovations, not the least of which is the new iOS 7 mobile operating system. Adding all of these factors together adds up to a superior big picture approach from Apple. They are poised to regain a great deal of their lost traction. Investors are paying very close attention right now.
