Your iPhone shouldn't suddenly crash to the lock screen when you're using it, no matter how often or long you're using it. What's the software installed on your device? The most recent iOS would be 10.1.1.
Is this a new device? When did you buy it?
Try force starting it, maybe that will help:
Press and hold Home and Power button until you see the Apple logo. As soon as it's visible, let go of both buttons. The iPhone will power up on it's own.
