I have a iPhone 4S jail broken with ios 5.0.1. I am trying to restore it with iTunes to ios 6.1.2 but it keeps giving me that the iphone is not eligible for the requested build....? Please help. I have is x 10.7 with the latest iTunes.. And yes I edited out the gs.apple.com from the hosts file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Vinny

Sorry, but the only iOS you can put on that phone is iOS 6.1.3 - which is not jailbreakable. That is why you keep getting the errors. The 4S has a different chip from the older phones and, when Apple changed the "authorization" procedure, it can no longer use SHSH blobs to "pick and choose" iOS versions.

I'm afraid that, if you want to stay jail broken, you'll have to stay at your current [jail broken] iOS until a jail break is found/released for iOS 7. Sorry.

I even tried to restore through iTunes to 6.1.3 and it does the same thing.
