Can anyone explain if google photos app has really got unlimited storage? I have got it and use it on my iPad but the more photos and videos you add the more space it takes up indicating it would eventually use up all memory on iPad. But if you search online for google photos you can add photos and videos that way without having the app. Only downside to doing it online is Live Photo’s become still. Only way to keep Live Photo’s Live is add them using the app which automatically uploads all photos and videos from your device.

If you chose “High quality” for your upload size, you get unlimited storage in Google Photos.

If the apps needs too much memory, limit it’s cache size. That’s done in Google Photos, the app itself. Tap the three bars at the top:

Then open it’s settings:

Select “Manage device storage”:

There, free up space on your iPhone by removing images from the Photos app which have already been synced to Google Photos, or limit the app’s cache size.

Hope that helps.

Thanks does doing this mean you can keep adding videos and photos without ever running out of space on your device?

This should help quite a bit with your storage space. If the app uses way too much storage space, in spite of these settings, remove it and install it again.
