Geotagging

Anyone have a clue why my AT&T iPhone 4 tagged 43 out of 48 pics that were taken at the same place on the same day over 1,000 miles away? I was at Texas Motor Speedway on 04/09/11 as were 200,000 other people. For some reason it tagged 43 of them at another racetrack, Martinsville speedway in Virgina. Does AT&T or NASCAR route x ammount of the data to another track to lighten up the load?

Any thoughts????
