donating old iPhone and it still has my phone number on it

I tried to search, to no avail. I have a 2G iphone that I am going to donate. It was erased and then the basics were loaded back on phone. Before I was going to donate it I wanted to check and make sure all of my info etc was off the phone and I noticed that when I go into PHONE in settings it shows my current phone number that I use on my iPhone 4.Is there anyway to clear that number? I assume that it really doesn't matter because no one else should be able to use that number, but I want to make sure. Can anyone help? Thanks

Yup have you removed your sim card from your phone? After removing your sim card i guess your problem will be solved.
