Can I recover pics from messages that I retook in error?

Hi,
My question is this: On iphone 5, when you are in messages and you take a picture through messages (using the small camera icon) it comes up with the question use or retake. Can I recover any pictures that were taken but then pressed retake by mistake instead of use??

I'm afraid not; if you retook the picture, it erased the earlier one.
