I wish to disable or turn off the speaker...I keep hitting it with my cheek and turning it on....it is distracting. Thanks for your help. George Lewis

Not sure what the sensor is, but when my ear touches the speaker icon, it turns on....not always, but too often...is this the sensor? Fixable or new phone?

the poximity sensor detects when the phone is beside your head turning the screen black not allowing any buttons to be pressed once your take phone away from your head it turns the screen back on allowing your to press any buttons your want

i think if your phone is not doing this it would be replaced

I have this same problem. I'll be talking on my phone and if I move it, the light comes on and my cheek hits the speaker phone button and turns the speaker phone on. As mentioned, it is very annoying.
