calendar synch

I know this has been discussed BEFORE on here, but I went to those and still can't figure it out!? I have an iphone 4 and a macbook. cannot get my ical to synch? I attempted to follow some directions on a "fix" but can't even find the PLACE to go?! It said delete user name/ library files? I looked all over. used spotlight, etc..
Is it 'cause I have lion?

Go to http://calendar.yahoo.com and sign in if necessary.
On upper right side of page, click on Options.
In the Events column, click Time Guides.
Scroll down to the list of your groups.
Select the group(s) whose events you want to show on your calendar.

I understand that part of it, but thank you kindly for replying..
For some reason it STILL does not SYNCH even when they are all checked etc... I found that post that suggested to copy for records my i cal, then remove all user names in the file library? but cant find anything like that anywhere!? thought I would give his "fix" a try? but any suggestions are appreciated!
