Can someone help explain why some messages I send are blue and some are green? I thought the differentiation was due to others on IPhone but in some cases, it will still be green to someone who has an IPhone. Thanks for all your help!

Green bubbles means your message is being sent as a standard text message through your network

Blue bubbles means your message is being sent as an iMessage via the Internet because the recipient has an iOS 5 device and is completely free

If you have a really crappy connection and or the Apple servers are having issues it will be green (standard text) even to someone who is normally blue (iMessage) and sometimes even in the same conversation.

Also, I'm pretty sure iMessage does not count as a text against your useage plan if you don't have unlimited.
