My iphone only turns on when it is connected to a wall charger. As soon as I unplug it, it dies. What can I do to fix this?

If it makes no difference, no matter how long the battery has been charging, there's a good chance that your battery has died and requires replacing. According to this site, Apple battery replacement, the cost to replace the battery is $79.00 plus shipping.

Just get a new battery on amazon

Obviously the battery is dead.

Unless you have warranty don't pay a repair shop to do this simple task.

Also when purchasing new battery always make sure it is an "OEM" item.

Batteries are not too expensive.

And once you have the new battery installed make sure to charge to it 100% and drain it fully atleast once a month as Apple suggests.

To expand the battery lifetime as long as possible.
