For those in Northern latitudes, the next couple of nights (Thursday and Friday) have a strong possibility of spectacular auroral displays.

I wish I lived close enough. Maybe I should visit Canada.

Supposed to be visible as far south as Iowa. Haven't checked that latitude.

In that case, I should see it quite well.. I'm well north of Iowa.

Auroras have been seen as far south as California but the further north you are, the more frequently you'll see an Auroral display. They've even been photographed from the ISS.

It was overcast in Alberta last night so not much to be seen. Best display I ever saw was at 4am in Yellowknife in the middle of winter. Colours went from deep red, blue, yellow and green. Pretty well the whole sky was lit up.
