Could Apple be getting tired of playing the conservative grandma and plan to take up the role of the wild teenager? According to analyst Shaw Wu of Sterne Agee, it just might! According to a note he sent investors last week, the success Apple has been facing in the last and current year with both the launch of the iPhone 4S and new iPad, has prompted the company to envision a change of mentality and dogma.

As you may already know the Cupertino group is expected to present its earnings release this week, and it will come seasoned with some major changes, voices say. Mister Wu also seems to discount the rumors according to which the iPhone 4S sales are dropping in major markets. People are not getting tired of the iPhone 4S even if a next generation iPhone is carving its image its way across the horizon. On the contrary!

"We believe concerns of (Verizon) iPhones coming in a little low are overdone. Keep in mind VZ is one of what we estimate to be 150 iPhone carriers."

Apparently some investors were producing a certain amount of insecurity, by stating that the iPhone activations at Verizon weren’t amounting to what was hoped for. But that’s nonsense. Last week, Verizon announced that the iPhone couldn’t be doing better. Actually it came out first in the top of smartphones activated by the company with a total of 3.2 million just in the first quarter of 2012.

Wu also made some predictions concerning the March quarter. He expects Apple to reveal that it has sold about 29.5 million iPhones, 12.3 million iPads and about 4.3 million Macs.
