Any news on the iPhone 4 untethered jailbreak and unlock 5.0.1 4.11.8?

I was confident i could unlock my mates iphone 4 for him, and like an idiot i didnt check that updating the firmware would affect the ability to unlock the phone (such a n00b mistake). A dude with an Indian name Sharim or something was working on it for a while last I bothered research, any updates on this since? He's gonna be well p***ed when I tell him tomorrow hahaha :B
