Activating my iPhone

When I activate my iPhone by doing *228 does it deactivate my old phone?

With other phones, Yes. I'm not sure about the iPhone. Since I already had an iTunes account set up, mine activated automatically as soon as I plugged it into the computer and accepted the terms.

Ok then. Ill just go to the Apple store or Verizon store to activate it. Make life easy.
