My IP4 does not seem to keep hold of wifi when I return home I have to enter the code again

Go to settings> general> reset> reset all settings. Reset your settings, restart your phone and set it up again

Yeah that device is grat I love it too. In fact I can't even let it stay away from me a moment, unless very busy. Glad that your issue is solve
