Hi all, new to the forum.

I just got a 3gs for a gift. I never had a iphone before and never needed one. I am on the att service, I don't want to pay for the internet. Would be happy just to use the phone and wifi. Can I take my sim card out of my old att phone and put it into the iphone and will it work?

What do I need to get the iphone to work without having to register it with att. If it can be done please give me step by step instuctions as to how this can be done. I don't know the first thing about how this works.

Thanks

Welcome,

Any AT&T sim will work in your phone. To activate it all you need to do is plug it into iTunes on your computer...

Will att find out that it is an iphone and start charging me more for internet?

Will they still think that it is my old razor phone?

Thanks

I think they can tell. Im in the UK and used to use my old vodafone sim from a nokia in my unlocked 3G. A that time vodafone didn't even have the iPhone but when I phoned them up I got a message saying that I was being transferred to the iPhone department.

They never done anything, though AT&T could he different...

Thanks for your help. I did as you said and it worked the phone turned on and can be used.
