TechCrunch reports that Ustream has just issued a major update to its iOS app, which now enables you to both view and broadcast live streams from the same app. Ustream 2.0 uses the iPhone 4’s (and, presumably, soon the iPad 2’s) front-facing camera to let you access your Ustream account and then either live stream or record a video with just one click. You can then post your footage on Twitter and Facebook, and interact with your audience by chatting or taking a poll among your viewers. If you’re more into viewing Ustream than broadcasting on it, the update enables you to access an at-a-glance view of your fave Ustream content, track your favourite upcoming events, and even get alerts when shows that you’re following or events that you’re attending go live. The Ustream blog says that after this update, even more improvements are in the works to help users discover the content that they want more easily and personalise their experience even further. Also, they say they are working to expand the number of featured shows that are viewable on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, so expect plenty more updates further down the line.
