I have an iphone 4 which will not work with a UK network, nothing sinister, it was lost and found. I move to Eastern Europe next month and wondered if it would work abroad? I used it solely on the Orange network, will it just work with a foreign sim card or will I have to get the phone officially unlocked?

Thanks

You will need it unlocked as any cell needs to be in order to work with any carrier.

Thank you for the reply, I presumed I would but I did not want to spend the money if I didn't need to.

That Question i had as well. I went ON vacation to the states.
I asked MY Carrier (TELEKOM) about unlocking MY iPhone.

He Said it would be unlocked automatically After the 2 years.
Then I could put in any SIM card. Hoping it Works when the Time is up. :)

So i had to Take an Old Handy with And got a prepaid chip, And it worked.
