Chillingos Assault Squadron, one of the highest rated shoot em ups on the App Store, has been updated today with Relative Touch Controls, increased ship movement speed and increased point bonus for completing a level without dying or being hit. A Lite version of the game has also been made available today.
Created by The Binary Mill, Assault Squadron sees the player taking on the role of an elite tactical space combat force dispatched by the Federal Alliance to defeat the alien enemy. The game features four unique playable ships, stunning firepower in the form of Vulcan Cannons, Spiral Grenades, Torpedo Missiles and Tri-Vortex Bombs. Boss fights in the game are designed to present a unique, intense challenge, and are accompanied by thrilling cinematic cutscenes.
The game boasts a custom-built graphics engine which enables 60 frames-per-second action, across both top-down and side-scrolling levels.
