Saturday night at 11:33, while I slept, my charging iPhone transferred over 3MB of data, putting me over my 2MB limit and leading to a $15 charge. I called AT&T and they eventually eliminated the charge, but the troubleshooting effort to explain the incident proved inconclusive.
In the 20 months that I've owned the phone, I've never come close to using more than 2MB of data. I never purchase or stream movies or music. I don't play multi-player games. Adding to the mystery, when at home the phone connects to our wireless network so even if some app went rogue, it shouldn't have done so through the 3G.
Any idea what might have happened here?
