Two new 5s's opened by either if two thumb Touch ID's

Is this right?

My wife and I have just bought two 5s's, one each.

Both our thumb Touch ID's will open either phone.

We both share the same Apple ID, iCloud etc, I thought this may be the reason.

Its because you both would have registered your thumbs on both your phones..
