The Horde of iPhone 6 Clones Begins

Sigh. It never fails. Whenever a new iPhone hits the streets, foreign markets march out a horde of iPhone clones. The above video is one of the first. It's actually a decent facsimile of the iPhone 6, despite the fact that it is running Android.

Obviously, it isn't anything we recommend, but sometimes these things are pretty funny to sneer at. This one is called the "Sophone i6," which is cringe-worthy. It's mediocre specs are equally cringe-worthy:

• 4.7-inch 960 x 540 display
• 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor
• 2GB of RAM
• Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with a totally original skin on top
• Fingerprint scanner
• 13 megapixel rear Sony camera, 4.9 megapixel front camera
• USB 2.0, aGPS, Bluetooth 4.0
• 1810mAh battery

Of course, it's off-contract price of just $140 bucks will look pretty appealing to folks on a limited budget in countries like India and/or China. Of course, we really have no idea who actually manufactures this knock-off, so this is likely a case of "you get what you pay for." It's probably best to steer clear of purchasing, but feel free to shake your head and roll your eyes...
