Before the iPad mini event, the rumor mill reported that Apple was going to unveil a few other interesting accessories to go with the new and re-polished devices. Now, Engaget draws attention that some new accessories were added to the Apple online store.

We’re talking about some new Lightning adapters: the new Lightning to VGA Adapter and Lightning Digital AV Adapter. They are both priced at $49 but you won’t get your hands on them immediately as the ship dates vary between two and three weeks. Cupertino also added a 12W USB iPad charger that turns out to be more powerful and faster.

The Lightning Digital AV Adapter is compatible with the following devices: the iPad mini, iPhone 5, the fifth-gen iPod touch and fourth-gen iPad. Unfortunately the newest iPod nano with Lightning I/O is not on the list. Just connect it to the any of your HDMI devices.

“The Lightning Digital AV Adapter mirrors exactly what you see on iPad with Retina display, iPad mini, or iPhone 5, so that everyone in the room can enjoy it on your widescreen TV, video projection screen, or other HDMI-compatible display.”

The Lightning to VGA Adapter features pretty much the same features but it will connect to projectors or displays using a VGA adapter.
The two adapters are a very useful addition since the Lightning to 30-pin adapter on the iPhone and iPod touch did not feature video or audio.
